Amazon Web Services (AWS) is planning to invest £1.8 billion ($2.3 billion) into building and operating data centers in the United Kingdom throughout the next two years, according to a company blog post from March.
The spend will bring AWS’s total investment in the United Kingdom to more than double what it is at present, since launching the AWS London Region in December 2016.
“Today, organizations of all sizes and across all industries in the U.K. are using AWS — from the fastest-growing startups to small and medium-sized businesses, the largest enterprises, public sector organizations, educational institutions and government agencies,” said AWS in the post.
