Allianz Global Investors is planning to make several major leadership changes in the new year, the firm announced this week.
Tobias Pross will take over as CEO of Allianz for Andreas Utermann, who is planning to retire, effective Jan. 1, 2020. In addition, Deborah Zurkow will also step into the role of global head of investments for Utermann.
Pross has worked at Allianz for more than 20 years, helping to develop the firm’s client-centric business strategy, according to a company statement. He has been a member of AllianzGI’s global executive committee since 2015, and Zurkow has been on the committee since 2016. Zurkow joined the firm in 2012, initially to establish its infrastructure debt capability, and she oversaw the growth of the firm’s alternatives platform, which has €80 billion ($88 billion) in assets under management.
