by Kali Arevalo

Allianz Global Investors has acquired a 20.25 percent minority stake in the French îles d’Yeu et Noirmoutier offshore wind farm (EMYN) from Ocean Winds, a 50-50 wind offshore joint venture owned by EDP Renewables and Engie.

EDPR confirmed it sold the stake to Allianz Global Investors for an equity value of €200 million ($234 million). Allianz purchased the wind farm stake on behalf of Allianz insurance companies.

EMYN is in the final phase of construction and represents the first partnership between Allianz and Ocean Winds in the offshore wind sector. First power was generated in June 2025, and more than two-thirds of the turbines are currently installed, supplying renewable electricity to French households.

The project benefits from a 20-year fixed inflation-linked feed-in tariff, providing long-term revenue stability. It is expected to reach full commissioning in first quarter 2026.
