Alberta Investment Management Corp. takes majority ownership stake in Howard Energy Partners

Alberta Investment Management Corp. (AIMCo) has acquired Astatine Investment Partners’ stake in Howard Energy Partners (HEP), a San Antonio–based diversified company focused on providing innovative midstream solutions.

AIMCo acquired an initial 28 percent stake in HEP in early 2017. Since then, the investment has performed well and continues to align strongly with AIMCo Infrastructure's energy transition strategies.

Following the most recent transaction, AIMCo holds an 87 percent ownership stake in HEP. HEP management and other minority investors will continue to hold a 13 percent ownership interest in the company.
