by Andrea Zander

The $8.7 billion Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association has committed $25 million to Vision Ridge Partners Sustainable Asset Fund III, an infrastructure fund managed by Vision Ridge Partners, which is a firm that invests in sustainable projects and ventures.

The fund series invests fundamentally in impact sectors. The target sectors are energy, agriculture, transportation and real estate. According to the firm’s website, the predecessor fund closed in 2018 and has $670 million in commitment capital, and $100 million in co-investment capital. It is focused on real assets in areas like electric-vehicle charging, energy efficiency and solar power. And the fund series’ first fund closed in 2014 with $430 million in committed capital, specifically in sustainably managed real assets in industry verticals including water, agriculture, energy efficiency, renewable-power generation, land/biomass and transportation.
