Aktia Fund Management plans to establish Finnish infrastructure fund

Aktia Fund Management Co. has acquired the business operations of Askel Partners Oy, a provider of fund services, extending its selection of alternative investment products.

With the purchase, Aktia will also establish a Finnish infrastructure fund, focused on the public and private energy, transport and communication infrastructure, and social infrastructure sectors.

“Investments in real assets that generate steady cash flows will play an especially important role in the current interest rate environment,” said Niina Bergring, director in charge of Aktia’s asset management. “In addition, the infrastructure fund that will be launched soon supplements Aktia’s awarded fund selection well.”

Under the deal, Kimmo Lehto and Kalle Myllymaki, the founders of Askel Partners, will join Aktia, bolstering the team responsible for Aktia’s real investments.
