AIP Management, a specialist investor in energy and decarbonization infrastructure, has established a 312-megawatt portfolio of operating Nordic renewables with the acquisitions of two operational onshore wind farms in Sweden.
The assets include Aldermyrberget, a 71-megawatt wind farm in northern Sweden, and Överturingen, a 241-megawatt wind farm in central Sweden. Both assets have been operating since 2020 and 2022, respectively, and use current-generation turbines under long-term service agreements.
“Swedish onshore wind has repriced sharply since 2021, driven by zonal price divergence rather than anything to do with the assets themselves,” said Domenico Tripodi, partner and co-head of investments at AIP. “That has created an opportunity to acquire high-quality operating capacity in a market where very few are transacting. We built a strategy to acquire into that, and these two assets are the beginning of it.”
