Advanced grid studies to begin for battery-energy storage system in Australia

Energy Vault Holdings, a company specializing in sustainable, grid-scale energy storage solutions, has been issued a notice of award from Meadow Creek Solar for the deployment of a 250-megawatt/500 megawatt-hour battery-energy storage system (BESS) in Australia.

The BESS, which will be developed by Meadow Creek, will be located at the company’s 330-megawatt Meadow Creek Solar Farm in Victoria, Australia. The Meadow Creek Solar Farm has completed extensive work on project feasibility, including grid capacity, and is currently progressing through detailed environmental and technical assessments to support the development application process. The BESS, being co-located with solar PV, will provide the resiliency and flexibility of charge and discharge.

Under the notice of award, Energy Vault will immediately begin the advanced grid studies and modeling with technical advisor DNV.
