ADIA acquires minority stake in EdgePoint Infrastructure

by Kali Persall

The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) has paid $500 million for a minority stake in EdgePoint Infrastructure, a wireless-towers platform focused on the high-growth markets of Southeast Asia.

The company was recently formed by DigitalBridge Group, a global digital infrastructure REIT based in Boca Raton, Fla., in partnership with major telecoms tower executive, Suresh Sidhu.

EdgePoint has secured more than 10,000 sites across Indonesia and Malaysia and is evaluating additional growth opportunities in markets across the Asia Pacific region.

According to Reuters, ADIA said its investment will support the future growth of EdgePoint, which is expected to involve both acquisitions and the development of new towers.
