Actis’ Rezolv Energy wins three wind and solar bids in Romania’s second CfD auction

Actis-backed Rezolv Energy has been awarded three contracts for difference (CfDs) by the Romanian Ministry of Energy in the country’s second CfD auction. The three bids covered 731.2 megawatts of capacity from the 1,044-megawatt Dama Solar PV project in Arad County and the 300-megawatt Dunarea East wind farm in Constanța County.

The first two bids, submitted by project company West Power Investments, related to the Dama Solar project, which is expected to be the largest solar plant in Europe after construction. The third bid, submitted by project company Midmar Callatis, related to the Dunarea East project which will be joined by a second wind farm on the same site — Dunarea West.

These wins follow Rezolv Energy’s success in Romania’s first CfD auction, when its bid for 240 megawatts of capacity from the VIFOR wind farm in Buzău County was awarded a CfD by the Ministry of Energy. In July, the first turbine was installed at VIFOR. Rezolv Energy also
