ACCIONA Energía to sell wind and solar portfolio in the U.S. and Mexico for $1b

ACCIONA Energía has reached a $1 billion agreement with Mexico Infrastructure Partners (MIP) regarding the sale of a 49 percent stake in its 1.3-gigawatt photovoltaic portfolio in the United States, along with two wind farms in Mexico totaling 321 megawatts.

The U.S. photovoltaic portfolio consists of four solar plants: the 458-megawatt Red Tailed Hawk and the 316-megawatt Fort Bend Solar facilities in Texas, as well as the 127-megawatt High Point Solar Farm in Illinois and the 415-megawatt Union Solar plant in Ohio.

ACCIONA Energía will retain a 51 percent majority stake in the assets and will continue to operate and manage them.

The Mexican assets include the 183-megawatt El Cortijo and the 138-megawatt Santa Cruz wind farms, both of which are located in the municipality of Reynosa (Tamaulipas).
