Herman Bril has been appointed executive director of investments at the ABP pension fund, effective Jan. 1. He will lead the fund together with Harmen van Wijnen, chairman of the executive board, and Yolanda Verdonk, executive director of pensions. Bril succeeds Jack Julicher, who held the position of executive director of investments on an interim basis.
Bril has worked in the financial sector for more than 30 years and was, among other things, CIO at Interpolis Pensions and Asset Management from 2003 to 2007 and a member of the management board at Cardano from 2009 to 2016. Bril gained international experience in the financial sector, including as CIO of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund in New York from 2016 to 2021. Most recently, he was managing director and head of sustainability and climate innovation at PSP Investments in London.
