$251m contract for tunneling work announced in Sydney

CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors, in a joint venture with John Holland, has been selected by the NSW Government to deliver the Western Harbour Tunnel — Southern Tunnelling Works as a modification to the Rozelle Interchange contract.

The enabling works will facilitate the efficient construction of the Western Harbour Tunnel and its integration into the Sydney motorway network. The project involves the excavation and lining of the Western Harbour Tunnel driven tunnels, including ventilation tunnels, between the stubs provided by the Rozelle Interchange and Birchgrove Oval.

The contract is estimated at A$350 million ($251 million).
