CIP’s Green Credit Fund II provides financing facility for U.K. battery storage portfolio

by Kali Arevalo

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Green Credit Fund II (GCF II), has provided a £100 million ($135 million) unitranche financing facility to support the construction of a U.K. battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio developed by Constantine Energy.

The portfolio comprises two BESS projects with a combined capacity of 157 megawatts/461 megawatt-hours.

“With its strong track record in developing and investing in energy and infrastructure assets, Constantine is well positioned to continue expanding its project pipeline, and we look forward to exploring future opportunities together,” said Jakob Groot, partner at CIP. “This financing represents an attractive opportunity for Green Credit Fund II to support the deployment of critical energy storage infrastructure while delivering large-scale clean energy solutions to the market.”

CIP’s credit strategy seeks to invest in balanced and diversified investments across transaction types
