Actis’ TERRANOVA begins construction of one of the first data centers dedicated to AI in Latin America

by Kali Arevalo

TERRANOVA, a hyperscale data center platform established by Actis in December 2025, has broken ground on Campus Campinas, which will become one of the first sustainable data center complexes in Latin America specifically designed for artificial intelligence (AI) processing.

Campus Campinas provides for 216 megawatts of IT in the initial phase, with areas reserved for future expansions that may raise the total to 386 megawatts of IT.

The project will be located in the Innovation Hub for Sustainable Development, in the city of Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. It combines high operational efficiency, cutting-edge technology and sustainability, standing out for its adoption of liquid cooling technology using a closed water circuit. This technology reduces electricity consumption and virtually eliminates the use of water for processor cooling, establishing an important technical and environmental differentiator compared with conventional data centers.
