Energy Capital Partners (ECP), an investment firm specializing in energy-transition infrastructure and a part of Bridgepoint Group, has achieved a final close for its sixth flagship equity strategy, ECP VI, with $8.1 billion in capital commitments.
The fund received commitments from a broad, diverse global investor base, with many commitments coming from limited partners who have invested with ECP across multiple funds. Investors include sovereign wealth funds, public and private pensions, insurance companies, asset managers, and family offices.
ECP confirmed Fund VI reached its hard cap, which was increased during the fundraise to accommodate strong investor demand, and significantly exceeded its initial $5 billion target.
Fund VI will continue ECP’s investment strategy of building and leading businesses across power generation, renewables and storage, and sustainable infrastructure. The structural forces reshaping the United States and global power markets â
