Equitix Management Services (EMS) recently onboarded three additional offshore transmission owner (OFTO) assets across the United Kingdom, bolstering the firm’s role in the long-term management of essential U.K. energy infrastructure.
These assets combined connect the 576-megawatt Gwynt y MĂ´r offshore wind farm in North Wales, the 219-megawatt Humber Gateway offshore wind farm near Hull and the 300-megawatt Thanet offshore wind farm in Kent to the onshore grid.
OFTOs play a vital role in the United Kingdom’s renewable-energy system, connecting offshore wind farms to the onshore transmission network and supporting the reliable flow of clean electricity to homes and businesses.
With these additions, EMS said it continues to expand its expertise across renewable-energy infrastructure, applying its sector-specific general and financial management expertise and asset-management capability to support safe, reliable and efficient long-term delivery.
