Infranode has reached final investment decision on a 60-megawatt battery energy storage system (BESS) with an energy capacity of 120 megawatt hours, to be co-located with its Vandel III Solar PV Park in Vejle Municipality, Denmark. The project will be the largest co-located battery in the Nordics, measured by power capacity.
The BESS will consist of six 10-megawatt units with a two-hour duration, providing a total capacity of 60 megawatts/120 megawatt hours. Final investment decision was taken in January 2026, with construction planned for 2026. The project will utilize the site’s existing grid connection.
By adding large-scale storage to Vandel III, Infranode is strengthening the flexibility and stability of renewable energy production. The battery will balance electricity supply throughout the day by storing solar power when generation exceeds demand and releasing it during periods of higher consumption, supporting a more stable energy system and reducing the need
