Arevon Energy, a U.S. energy developer, owner and operator, has achieved full operations at its $2 billion Eland Solar-plus-Storage Project in California, one of the largest solar-plus-storage installations in the United States.
Arevon’s two-phase Eland project, sited near Mojave in Kern County, has a total nameplate capacity of 758 megawatts DC of solar, paired with 300 megawatts/1,200 megawatt-hours of energy storage. The project will be able to power more than 266,000 homes annually and will generate 7 percent of Los Angeles’s electricity requirements. The energy generated and stored by Eland is under long-term agreements with Southern California Public Power Authority, who delivers it to its members Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Glendale Water & Power.
