NextEnergy Capital takes ownership of largest agrivoltaic PV project in Italy

NextEnergy Capital (NEC), a global renewables manager specializing in the solar-plus infrastructure sector, has acquired the largest agrivoltaic PV (AgriPV) project in Italy to date via its NextPower V ESG fund.

Located in Campania in southeastern Italy, the 73-megawatt advanced AgriPV project colocates utility-scale solar PV with agricultural land use to help maintain and improve soil productivity alongside other traditional land uses. AgriPV systems offer substantial opportunities such as enhancing land productivity, water conservation and mitigation of extreme weather for both crops and grazing animals. Additionally, AgriPV provides farmers with diversified income streams, reducing their financial dependency on traditional agricultural markets and contributing to the resilience and stability of local communities.
