New Mexico SIC sets $675m aside for infrastructure funds

by Kali Persall

The New Mexico State Investment Council (SIC) has greenlighted new investments in funds managed by NOVA Infrastructure and Ember Infrastructure.

The sovereign wealth fund recently approved a commitment of up to $150 million to NOVA Infrastructure II and up to $75 million in a related co-investment vehicle. Fund II is a continuation of NOVA Infrastructure’s value-add investment strategy focused on North American mid-market infrastructure. The fund opened to investors in February 2024, according to an SEC filing, and had raised more than $100 million at that time. The previous fund in the series closed at $565 million in 2022 and has invested in companies such as Integrated Waste Solutions Group, Bold Ocean, telMAX, Harbor Logistics and Hawthorne Global Aviation Services.
