Energy Capital Partners (ECP), an investor across energy transition, electrification and decarbonization infrastructure assets, has acquired Portland, Ore.–based Triple Oak Power from EnCap Energy Transition Fund I and its co-investors, Yorktown Partners and Mercuria Energy. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Through greenfield development and acquisitions, Triple Oak develops and monetizes high-quality renewable-energy projects to accelerate the transition to renewable energy and help shape a more diverse, reliable and sustainable power grid. The company manages a pipeline of more than 8 gigawatts of renewable development projects, consisting of predominantly utility-scale wind opportunities in the central and western United States.
EnCap Energy Transition Fund I held its final close in 2021 with $1.2 billion in capital commitments from both new and long-standing investo
