Government officials met with airport leaders this week to discuss plans for putting the federal funding designated by Biden’s Infrastructure and Jobs Act into play.
Biden’s infrastructure plan allotted $1.2 billion in funding for Texas airports over the next five years, KENS5 reports. The news outlet said San Antonio International Airport is planning to use its cut of more than $50 million to improve airport capacity, construct a new baggage handling system, and add additional gates as well as a new terminal.
The amount slated for the San Antonio International Airport is expected to be delivered in increments of around $11 million every year for the next five years.
