Amazon Web Service (AWS) is planning to spend £1.8 billion ($2.37 billion) to roll out new data centers in the United Kingdom over the next two years, according to Data Center Dynamics.
This will double AWS’s total investment in the United Kingdom since launching in London in 2016.
“We are proud of the contributions we are making to the U.K. economy,” said Darren Hardman, vice president and general manager of AWS U.K. and Ireland. “Looking ahead, we know that the U.K. remains full of opportunity and we continue to be excited by the potential to continue supporting our customers, partners, and citizens across the U.K. over the years to come.”
No details have been released about how exactly the £1.8 billion will be spent.
