Swedish pension fund Andra AP-fonden (AP2) said it contributed SEK 500 million ($58 million) in BlackRock’s Climate Finance Partnership (CFP) fund, which closed on Nov. 2 with $673 million in capital commitments.
CFP will invest in sustainable infrastructure in developing countries focusing on renewable energy with associated infrastructure, such as electricity grids and battery storage.
In addition to AP2, the French Development Agency (AFD), the German development bank KfW, as well as three U.S. foundations — Hewlett Foundation, Quadrivium Foundation and Grantham Environmental Trust — invested in CFP.
