The National Government of Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has started construction work on a COP2.1 trillion ($541 million) road project, according to InfraPPP.
The public-private partnership project includes the Granada–Villavicencio and Villavicencio – Puerto López–Puerto Gaitán corridors. Work has already begun on two sections: near the Guayuriba River in the corridor that connects Villavicencio with Acacías, and in the Yucao Bridge, on the Puerto López–Puerto Gaitán road.
In addition, in the highway ring of the capital of Meta, the intersection of Fundadores will be improved and a new road will be constructed, connecting it with the Villavicencio–Yopal 4G corridor.
In total, 267.5 kilometers (166 miles) of road are under consideration, 260 kilometers (161 miles) of which are currently in the operation and maintenance phase.
