The Nordex Group has won a 187-megawatt order for a wind farm in Istanbul.
In 2019, the Nordex Group received an order for five turbines for the first 24-megawatt construction phase. The Caba Group has now ordered 39 N133/4800 turbines for the second construction phase of the wind farm, for which delivery is scheduled for late summer 2021.
The wind farm, located 50 kilometers (31 miles) northwest of Istanbul on the Black Sea, will consist of a total of 44 turbines once completed. This makes the 211-megawatt wind farm “Istanbul” the largest single licensed project in Turkey to date.
With an average annual wind speed on site of 8 meters per second (18 miles per hour), the wind farm is expected to produce an annual yield of 850 gigawatt hours.
The Nordex Group has installed more than 32 gigawatts of wind power capacity in more than 40 markets.
