Bridgestone Americas, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bridgestone Corp., has announced its first ground solar array providing power directly to the manufacturing process.
The new solar array is located at the company's Aiken County, S.C., Passenger/Light Truck Radial Tire Plant in Graniteville, S.C. The new installation includes approximately eight acres of solar panels that generate 2 megawatts of energy while reducing 1,400 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, equivalent to the annual electricity use of more than 200 homes.
