PKM Cochin ULC and Pembina Cochin have launched an open season to obtain binding commitments for the transport of light condensate on the Cochin Pipeline, according to Pembina Pipeline Corp., a North American transportation and midstream service provider.
The Cochin Pipeline receives condensate from the Explorer, TEPPCO and Wabash pipelines at its Kankakee, Ill., terminal and delivers it to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, according to the Canada Energy Regulator. At Fort Saskatchewan, the Cochin Pipeline connects with several terminals and pipelines that are used to store and deliver condensate to oil sands production sites in Alberta.
The pipeline began operations in 1979 and originally moved products eastward from Fort Saskatchewan to Windsor, Ontario. In 2014, the direction of flow on the segment of the Cochin Pipeline from Kankakee to Fort Saskatchewan was reversed to transport condensate westbound.
The open season began on Jan. 19 and will close on Feb. 18.
