The Plenary Health consortium has emerged as the preferred bidder to deliver the largest health infrastructure investment in Victoria, Australia, according to InfraPPP.
The A$1 billion ($715 million) New Footscray Hospital will replace the old hospital on Gordon Street and will feature 504 beds, as well as more outpatient, palliative care and mental health services. The hospital also will allow an extra 20,000 people to be seen by the emergency department each year.
The winning consortium — consisting of Plenary Group, Sojitz Corp., Multiplex, and Honeywell and Compass — will enter into an exclusive negotiation with the Victorian government to deliver the new hospital. The consortium will design, construct, finance and maintain the new facility over a period of 25 years under a public-private partnership model.
