PT Data Center Infrastructure Indonesia has announced plans to build a third data center in Indonesia as part of a goal to construct the largest hyperscale campus in the region, according to Data Center Dynamics.
The seven-story facility, known as JK3, features four data hall floors and has a 12-megawatt capacity. It will commence operations in 2020. The new data center follows on the heels of JK1 and JK2, which have a capacity of 3 megawatts and 7 megawatts, respectively. They are also located in Cibitung at West Java, Indonesia.
DCI has plans to construct more than half a dozen data centers at the 85,000-square-meter (914,932-square-foot) site with a total capacity of 150 megawatts.
“Our long-term vision is to become the largest [data center campus] in Southeast Asia,” Oscar Stephanus, sales and marketing manager at PT DCI told Data Center Dynamics.
