Gas South has plans to purchase the Florida assets of Peninsula Energy Services Co. (PESCO), a subsidiary of Chesapeake Utilities.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Gas South is a natural gas provider in markets throughout the southeastern United States, serving more than 300,000 residential, business and governmental customers in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.
The company entered Florida's commercial and industrial natural gas market in 2014, and will begin serving its new customers on Nov. 1.
