3i promotes five within infrastructure business

European international investor and manager 3i has made five senior promotions, bolstering its infrastructure business.

3i promoted Matt Barker, Aaron Church and Daniel von der Schulenburg to partner, and Céline Maronne and Oscar Tylegard to director, the company announced Thursday.

Barker joined 3i in 2010 and has been responsible for a number of 3i infrastructure investments, including Eversholt Rail Group, Wireless Infrastructure Group, TCR and Tampnet. Barker currently sits on the boards of Wireless Infrastructure Group, TCR and Tampnet.

Since Church joined 3i in 2013, he has played a key role in 3i’s acquisitions of Attero, Joulz and Herambiente and is a director on the boards of Attero, Joulz and Oystercatcher.

Schulenburg focuses on the German-speaking region and the energy sector. He has been involved in the acquisitions of Infinis, Alkane Energy and Attero, and is currently a director on the boards of Infinis and Attero. He has worked at 3i since 2016.

Maronne led the acquisition of the Hospital of Cascais and was involved in the investments in TCR, Valorem and Joulz. Céline joined 3i in 2013 and currently sits on the board of TCR.

Finally, Tylegard’s transaction experience includes ESVAGT, East Surrey Pipelines, Infinis, Alkane Energy and Tampnet. He joined 3i in 2013 and is currently on the boards of ESVAGT and Tampnet.

3i has two complementary businesses, private equity and infrastructure, specializing in core investment markets in northern Europe and North America.

3i’s infrastructure business comprises 33 investment professionals who advise and manage five infrastructure investment vehicles.

The business invests principally in economic infrastructure businesses and greenfield projects and had approximately £4.2 billion ($5.2 billion) assets under management as of March 31.
