K2 Data Centres, an international developer, owner and operator of hyperscale digital infrastructure assets, is planning to make significant capital investments in two new data centers in Ballycoolin in Dublin, Ireland, media sources report.
The plan consists of building two three-story facilities of around 29,000 square meters (312,000 square feet) each. Construction would also include building 32 emergency generators, a two-story office and 160-car parking area.
K2 also reportedly has plans to develop a hyperscale campus in Dublin.
The project is part of K2’s goal to accelerate the future of Maritime Data Centers, an initiative it embarked on this year.
The company already has a data center on the Ballycoolin site, which houses a business and technology park. Pending approval from Fingal County Council, the company would need to demolish industrial units and buildings on the Ballycoolin site before the data center construction could commence.
