by Jody Barhanovich

The $207.4 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund has committed $300 million to ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund II (ISQ II), according to a monthly transaction report.

The fund is managed by I Squared Capital Advisors. ISQ II is a closed-end global infrastructure fund, primarily focused on middle-market investments in power generation, renewables and utilities, energy, communications, water, and transportation.

The fund recently held a $7 billion final close in September, exceeding an initial target of $5 billion. The fund received commitments from more than 100 institutional investors with oversubscribed demand and a re-up rate reaching over 80 percent from the previous fund.

The first fund in the series, ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund, held a $3 billion final close in 2015.
