United Living Group, a provider of infrastructure, housing and property services, has secured a £30 million ($34 million) contract from CityFibre as part of a program to roll out its full-fiber network across the city of Sunderland, England.
As the network is completed in each neighborhood, CityFibre will designate the homes as “ready for service,” which means residents can choose to connect to full fiber-enabled broadband services when they go live in their area.
Once the city-wide rollout reaches completion in 2025, nearly every home and business in the city will have access to full-fiber services from a choice of internet service providers — including Vodafone, TalkTalk and Zen, with other providers expected to join the network soon.
