UBS-AM buys German fiber network operator, Lünecom

UBS Asset Management Real Estate & Private Markets (REPM) has acquired a 100 percent equity stake in Lünecom, a German independent fiber-optic infrastructure operator.

Lünecom offers super-fast internet via fiber to the home, as well as IP telephony and IPTV. It has a high market share in its existing coverage area, as well as a large, contracted user base supporting cash generation.

UBS-AM’s investment will provide financing to support future capex deployment to deliver on services to a pipeline of up to 100,000 homes, with the potential to expand to an additional 50,000 homes in target areas across northern Germany.
