U.S. EPA pledges $65m for groundwater infrastructure improvements in Oregon

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted $65 million of Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) loans to the Rockwood Water People’s Utility District and the City of Gresham, Oregon to support their Cascade Groundwater Development Program.

The loans will provide around $30 million for Rockwood Water People’s Utility District and $34 million for the City of Gresham, respectively, to finance the expansion of their existing groundwater infrastructure and develop an independent regional groundwater system.
