Texas Employees commits $85m to energy fund

The $26 million Employees Retirement System of Texas has committed $85 million to Quantum Energy Partners VII, according to Betty Martin, director of investment services.

Quantum Energy Partners VII is an energy fund with a core focus on upstream oil and gas opportunities in North America. The fund’s secondary focus is on midstream, power generation and oilfield services assets.

The fund’s predecessor, Quantum Energy Partners VII, held a $4.45 billion final close in July 2015. The fund had received investments from the Nebraska Investment Council and the $17 billion Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana.

Founded in 1998, Quantum Energy Partners is a provider of private equity capital to the global energy industry. Currently, Quantum has portfolio companies operating in the United States, Canada and Europe that are engaged in multiple sectors and strategies within the energy industry.
