Swiss Life Asset Managers acquires 20% stake in offshore wind park in the Netherlands

Swiss Life Asset Managers has acquired a 20-percent minority stake in Borssele III & IV, a fully operational offshore wind park located in the Netherlands, on behalf of investors. The seller was Partners Group, which acted on behalf of its clients.

Borssele III & IV is a fully operational offshore wind park located 55 kilometers (34 miles) from the Port of Vlissingen in the Netherlands. The Borssele III & IV wind farm has an installed capacity of 731.5 megawatts and is generating roughly 2.3 percent of the Dutch electricity demand.

With 77 wind-turbine generators, the energy produced by Borssele III & IV will power 825,000 homes. Swiss Life said the wind park contributes significantly to the goal included in the Dutch 2013 Energy Agreement for Sustainable Growth, which targets 4,450 megawatts of offshore wind capacity to be operational by 2023.
