Strategic Power Projects (SPP) and Gresham House have teamed up to build solar electricity generators and battery storage throughout Ireland, according to The Irish Times.
Strategic Power is investing €1 billion ($1.2 billion) in 16 solar, battery-storage and biogas projects that will provide electricity to roughly 630,000 homes. The partners are seeking to complete projects with a combined capacity of 1,000 megawatts of electricity.
“These are critical times for renewable energy in Ireland,” said Paul Carson, managing director of SPP. “The concerning uncertainty regarding energy only serves to emphasise the need for more renewables development, with a particular focus on battery energy storage in providing stability to the grid.”
