Gresham House has announced the final close of its British Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (BSIF) II with £450 million ($552 million) in commitments from 12 investors.
Eight Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds backed BSIF II, according to several news reports. The roster includes Cornwall Pension Fund and Bedfordshire Pension Fund, which joined Worcestershire Pension Fund, Teesside Pension Fund, Staffordshire Pension Fund, Greater Manchester Pension Fund, Torfaen Pension Fund and East Riding Pension Fund, in addition to four family offices.
BSIF II supports a variety of portfolio companies, including independent alt-net providers connecting rural communities to gigabit broadband, vertical farms championing innovative agriculture techniques and habitat banks supporting developers to deliver biodiversity net gain, alongside local projects, according to PensionsAge.
