Saudi Water Partnership Co. achieves financial close on seawater desalination plant

Saudi Water Partnership Co. (SWPC) has completed the financial close of its Yanbu-4 IWP Project, a reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant located in the Madinah Region.

According to InfraPPP, the consortium of the project consists of Engie, Mowah Co., CJSC and Nesma Co.

Yanbu-4 has a capacity of 450,000 cubic meters per day and will be built and operated by the private sector for a period of 25 years from the commercial operation date, which is scheduled for fourth quarter 2023.

The financial closing was achieved with the participation of partners from the authorities, such as the Supervisory Committee at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, as well as developers and consultants.
