RES to build major renewable hub in Australia

by Kali Persall

Independent renewable energy developer RES is planning to construct a colossal renewable energy hub in Australia, according to Renew Economy.

Located in Victoria near Neoen’s Bulgana Green Energy Hub, the Watta Wella renewable energy hub will include a 315-megawatt wind farm, a 62.5-megawatt solar farm and a 400-megawatt battery.

The site was chosen for its ample wind and solar resources, in addition to a planned upgrade to the nearby Bulgana substation as part of a project designed to boost grid capacity in the region.

Sources estimate construction will not begin until early 2025.
