OP&F commits up to $100m to global infrastructure fund

by Jody Barhanovich

The $15.1 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund has committed $100 million to the IFM Global Infrastructure Fund.

IFM Global Infrastructure Fund, sponsored by IFM Investors, is an open-end commingled fund that seeks to invest in large capitalization core and core-plus assets diversified by geography, infrastructure sector and revenue driver.

This is OP&F’s first infrastructure commitment to its new real assets portfolio after it adopted its new real assets allocation, the 2017 Real Assets Investment Plan. The new allocation is designed to guide the near-term implementation of the pension fund’s new real assets allocation, which includes infrastructure, agriculture and existing timber investments. A target range of $200 million to $280 million in new commitments was suggested for 2017 with a long-term target of 5 percent of the total OP&F portfolio.

Currently, OP&F’s real assets make up $300 million, or 2 percent of its total portfolio.
