OCERS makes first-time investment with Digital Colony

The $18.6 billion Orange County (Calif.) Employees Retirement System (OCERS) has committed $75 million to Digital Colony Partners II, a communications infrastructure fund managed by Digital Colony.

Digital Colony invests in data centers, macro cell towers, fiber networks and small cell networks, according to the company’s website. Digital Colony actively manages 15 portfolios and affiliated companies across the digital infrastructure space, consisting of around 350,000 tower sites, more than 95 data centers and a fiber network of more than 135,000 route miles.

Digital Colony Partners II is seeking to raise $6 billion, according to Data Center Knowledge.

Digital Colony’s inaugural fund, Digital Colony Partners, closed in June 2019 with $4.05 billion in equity commitments, surpassing its target of $3 billion.
