Nuveen Infrastructure plans to acquire a 15 percent stake in the 731.5-megawatt Borssele III/IV offshore wind farm in the Netherlands from Partners Group. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The project, which has been in operations since the fourth quarter 2021, is located 22 kilometers (13.7 miles) offshore of the Zeeland province in the Netherlands. The wind farm has a 15-year sustainable energy transition subsidy scheme, SDE+, from the Dutch government.
This marks the second investment from the Nuveen European Core Renewable Infrastructure (NECRI) strategy, which launched in September 2022 in partnership with Dutch investor MN, on behalf of its client PMT. NECRI is an evergreen strategy investing in renewable projects on brownfield sites across continental Europe, including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, the Nordics, Germany and the other Benelux countries.
