NTT and Tokyo Century strike data center partnership in India

NTT Corp. and Tokyo Century Corp. have partnered to collaborate on India’s data center businesses.

NTT Global Data Centers Holding Asia is planning to divest 75 percent of its outstanding common shares in NTT Global Data Centers Holding Asia BOM8 (SPV) to Tokyo Century and will jointly own the data center’s assets currently held by BOM8.

GDC HC established BOM8 to hold assets related to the data center business in Mumbai. This SPV is developing a nine-story data center with a total building area of more than 310,000 square feet and a critical IT load of 24 megawatts. SPV will become a joint venture of GDC HC and Tokyo Century, following the transaction.

The data center, located only 30 minutes from Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, is expected to be completed in February 2022 and will accommodate large-scale cloud service providers known as hyperscalers.
