Malaysia’s Employees Provident Fund appoints new CEO

Malaysia’s Employees Provident Fund (EPF), which currently serves 15.9 million members, has announced that Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn has been appointed its new CEO, effective Feb. 19.

Prior to the appointment, Zulqarnain Onn was president and group chief executive at EPF. Before joining EPF, he was the CEO of Danajamin Nasional Berhad, the deputy managing director at Khazanah Nasional Berhad and the president and group chief executive at Permodalan Nasional Berhad. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University.

Zulqarnain Onn will succeed YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, who has been appointed minister of finance II.
