Major infrastructure firms launch climate-focused initiative

Five global private investment firms have founded the One Planet Private Equity Funds (OPPEF) initiative as part of an effort to advance the understanding of climate-related risks and opportunities within investment portfolios.

The founding members of the OPPEF initiative include Ardian, The Carlyle Group, Global Infrastructure Partners, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets and SoftBank Investment Advisers.

The initiative will support the members of the One Planet Sovereign Wealth Funds (OPSWF), a group of sovereign wealth funds representing more than $2 trillion trillion dollars of assets, in their implementation of a new framework. The OPSWF Working Group was established to accelerate efforts to integrate financial risks and opportunities related to climate change in the management of large, long-term asset pools.
